Manfred G. Raupp

Manfred Gustav Raupp ( born November 13, 1941 in Stafford, District of Stutensee ) is a German agricultural scientists and economists. He is Honorary Professor at the University of Prague -Suchdol for the fields of crops research and international management. As a specialist in agricultural and Bioinformatics and Plant Nutrition, he is responsible for training and information in the management team of the EU research project Biofector.

Life and work

Earning a degree in agricultural engineering, agricultural sciences, sociology, economics and marketing at the School of Engineering Nürtingen, Hohenheim University and INSEAD followed a scientific activity and a faculty commitment to teaching market in Hohenheim and Bad Durkheim. As Dipl.- Ing ( FH) and agronomist he received his doctorate in 1973 in Hohenheim Dr. oec.

From 1974-1999, he served as senior manager of the Swiss company Ciba -Geigy for seeds in Germany and Novartis for agricultural chemical sales in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Since 1999, Raupp is self-employed in agricultural research and research consultancy. He is a registered consultant to the European Commission in matters of agricultural research, especially the Bioeffektoren and has teaching engagements. At the universities of Prague -Suchdol, Chester, Edirne and Timişoara

Raupp researches and teaches on the subject: Pflanzenvitalisierung and resource conservation through Bioeffektoren, natural substance induced resistance against plant diseases and International Management.

Other engagements

He belonged in the 1970s to the German initial group of Renewable Resources to Manfred Dambroth to build up the German Genbank crops and engaged with Ludwig Reiner build the German agricultural computer science.

Raupp committed in 1987 for the support of the Polish peasants with Blizzard corn seed. In 1989 he received a teaching contract for agricultural research and international management in German and English at the University of Prague -Suchdol, was in 2000 a member of the editorial board of the Scientia Agriculturae Wissenschaftsperiodikums Bohemical Prague and appointed honorary professor in 2003.

He has been involved in establishing the Erasmus program at the international student exchanges and international Rotary Youth Exchange and is a member of the Committee countries Germany -Turkey Rotary International. As part of the Erasmus relationship between the Trakya University and the University of Chester on the one hand and the Cooperative State University Lörrach on the other hand he is a visiting professor engagiert.Zusammen with Mukadder Seyhan Yücel he has prepared the Lörrach symposium at Trakya University Edirne. Even for the recognition of the Selimiye Mosque in the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage he has set himself.

Raupp was the founding and longtime board member of the German BioValley Association, a founding member of the Tri-National Student Research Centre phaenovum and is a board of Lörrach International eV.
