Discussion about the future of the City Airport Mannheim

On the political and economic level of the Rhine -Neckar a discussion on the future of the City Airport is out for some time. The main argument against a future continued operation is the safety deficiencies and the related incident on 19 March 2008, in which a Dornier 328 from Cirrus Airlines on landing overshot the runway. As possible alternatives not currently freely passed for civil aviation runway in the Coleman Barracks and, where appropriate, to be extended Speyer airfield be called again and again.
