Mantas Kalnietis

Mantas Kalnietis ( born September 6, 1986 in Kaunas) is a Lithuanian Basketballspieler.Er playing on the position of a point guard. He is 1.95m tall and weighs 93 kg ( 2010).

Career

Association

Kalnietis played two and a half seasons with LKKA - Zalgiris with 17.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.3 assists in the second season. Since 2006 he played with Zalgiris Kaunas ( 5.9 points, 2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in the first season). The greatest success for Kalnietis there was in the 2008-09 season (11.3 points in the LKL and 8.5 points and 3.0 assists in the ULEB Euro League).

Kalnietis graduated in June 2009 from a three-year contract with Benetton Treviso, though he stood at Zalgiris Kaunas still under contract. The sports court FIBA decided that he must fulfill his contract with Zalgiris Kaunas. Overall Kalnietis played from 2006 to 2012 at Zalgiris. During this time he won four times the Lithuanian Championship and also four times the Lithuanian Cup. In addition to the Lithuanian title he won with Zalgiris four times the Baltic Basketball League. He was five times participants in the Lithuanian All- Star Games and two-time participant in the All-Star games in the BBL. In summer 2012 Kalnietis joined the Russian locomotive Kuban Krasnodar.

Lithuanian national basketball team

Kalnietis was a member of the Lithuanian national basketball team at the 2006 World Championships, the European Championships in 2009 and EM 2011. During the 2010 World Cup, he won the bronze medal with Lithuania. He took part in London with the national team at the 2012 Olympics.
