Manuel Earnshaw

Manuel Earnshaw ( born November 19, 1862 in Cavite, † February 13, 1936 in Manila ) was a Filipino politician. Between 1913 and 1917 he represented the Philippines as a delegate ( Resident Commissioner ) in the House of Representatives of the United States.

Career

Manuel Earnshaw attended the Ateneo de Manila and the Nauti School, also in Manila. He then worked as an engineer. He was founder and president of the company Earnshaw Slipways & Engineering Co. In 1912 he was appointed as an independent candidate from the Philippine legislature for non-voting delegate in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on March 4, 1913 as the successor of Benito Legarda. This office he was able to exert up to 3 March 1917. In 1916 he gave up another candidacy.

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Manuel Earnshaw took until 1921 its previous activities on again. Then he withdrew into retirement. He died on February 13, 1936 in Manila.
