Mara Corday

Mara Corday ( born January 3, 1930 as Marilyn Joan Watts in Santa Monica, California) is an American actress.

Life

Corday came to Hollywood at the age of 17. She first worked as a dancer at the Earl Carroll Theatre on Sunset Boulevard, as well as a photo model. In 1951 she had a minor role as a showgirl in Two Tickets to Broadway. Then she got a film contract with Universal International Pictures and was staffed mainly for B-movies and TV series. Her first starring role was played by Corday in the science fiction horror film Tarantula. There were other larger roles in horror and Western films. In addition, she worked during the 1950s continues as a fashion model and pin -up girl in October 1958 and was Playmate of the Month in Playboy magazine.

During the filming of Playgirl (1954 ) she had her future husband, the actor Richard Long met. Both were married in 1957 and the early 1960s, she retired from acting to devote herself to raising her three children. About this marriage she was related to Marshall Thompson. Only after the death Longs 1974 she returned to show business. She supported her longtime friend Clint Eastwood, with whom she had on the set of closed Tarantula friendship and now regularly helped her appearances in his films.
