Marcel Moyse

Marcel Moyse ( born May 17, 1889 in St. Amour, France, † November 1, 1984 in Brattleboro, Vermont, United States) was a French flautist.

Marcel Moyse studied at the Paris Conservatory with Philippe Gaubert, Adolphe Hennebains and Paul Taffanel. He was co-founder of the Marlboro School of Music and the festival of the same. Among his students William Bennett, Trevor Wye (who later published a biography of his teacher ), Aurèle Nicolet, Sir James Galway and Peter -Lukas Graf.

Moyse often performed together with his son Louis.
