Marco Höger

Marco Hoger (2011)

Marco Hoeger ( born September 16, 1989 in Cologne ) is a German footballer who 04 has a contract with FC Schalke since the 2011/12 season. His preferred position is defensive midfielder but he can also be used as a right defender.

Career

Marco Hoger began his career in 1994 with TuS Höhenhaus and then teamed up with Bayer 04 Leverkusen at the age of 12. After five years in the youth of Bayer 04 Leverkusen, he moved to local rivals Alemannia Aachen. There he first came in 2008 in Aachen reserve team in the NRW-Liga and was elected captain. On March 6, 2010 Hoeger got its first use in the 2nd Bundesliga. Hoeger established himself in the first team of Alemannia and regularly played as a right midfielder, but can also be used as a right-back. In the game against 1.FC Union Berlin in the 2010/11 season he scored his first goal in professional football. Two game days later he met the away match against Greuther Fürth penalty for a 1-1 draw.

For the season 2011/12 moved to FC Schalke 04 Hoger His first game for Schalke he graduated in the 0:3 away defeat at VfB Stuttgart on Matchday 1 of the season 2011/12. His first Bundesliga goal he scored on 28 January 2012 for the 4-1 final score at the 1 FC Cologne.

In January 2013, Hoeger extended his original 2014 contract early until 30 June 2016.
