Marcus Marshall

Marcus Marshall ( born November 25, 1978 in Burnie, Queensland) is an Australian racing driver. He started from 2003 to 2011 to some races of the V8 Supercars. In addition, he was in the 2005 Champ Car World Series in 2006 and active in the A1GP.

Career

Marshall began his motorsport career in 1997 in Club Racing, where he was active until 2000. In 2000 he moved to Formula racing. He was sixth in the queensländischen Formula Ford and 17 of the Australian Formula Ford The next two seasons remained Marshall in the Australian Formula Ford after the seventh place in the 2001 season, 2002, he was third in the championship.

2003 Marshall was active in Tourenwagen-/GT-Sport. He was vice-champion of the Australian Porsche Carrera Cup. In addition, he started to run two races in the Porsche Supercup and competed in the V8 Supercar series. He completed six races in the Konica V8 Supercar Series, the second class of V8 Supercars, as well as two races in the V8 Supercar Championship Series, the first category.

2004 Marshall returned back into formula racing. He went on to single race of the Australian and British Formula 3 Championship. In the Australian Formula 3 he was sixth with three wins and in the British series he finished with a victory on the 17th place in the championship. He also again took part in a race in the V8 Supercar Championship Series. 2005 Marshall received a cockpit with Team Australia in the Champ Car World Series and became a teammate of Alex Tagliani. For the season finale, Marshall was replaced by his compatriot Will Power. While Tagliani was seventh with third places, was an eighth place, the best result of Marshall. He was at the end of the season on the 16 championship course. In addition, he went with two races of the V8 Supercar Championship Series at the start. In early 2006, took Marshall for the Australian team at a A1GP race weekend at the Sentul International Circuit in part. In the main race with a third place he achieved a podium placement.

He then focused on his involvement in the V8 Supercars. He graduated from the complete 2006 season of the V8 Supercar Championship Series. He was 29th in the driver standings. 2007 was his focus on the Australian Porsche Carrera Cup. There he reached the fourth place championship with three wins. In addition, he participated in eight races of the V8 Supercar Championship Series, and in six races in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series, the second V8 Supercar series, part. In the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series, he scored two podium finishes. 2008 Marshall was again the whole season in the V8 Supercar Championship Series active. He graduated from the championship on the 23th Place.

From 2009 to 2011 Marshall completed no full race seasons. He entered every season to some races of the V8 Supercar Championship Series. In addition, he participated in the 2009 and 2010 in some races in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar series in 2011 and at some races in the V8 Utes, where it was driven Utes, in part.
