Marek Kaljumäe

Marek Kaljumäe ( born February 18, 1991, Tallinn) is an Estonian football player. The midfielder plays for FC Levadia Tallinn in the Meistriliiga.

Career

Association

Marek Kaljumäe began his career at the age of 7 years at SC Real in Estonia. In his youth he was awarded each for a short time at the Defence League JK Kalev and JK Nõmme Kalju. In 2009 moved Kaljumäe after successful trial of the youth of the SC to the Dutch first division club Real AZ Alkmaar. There he first played more in youth and was later a few times in the first team squad. In Alkmaar he had contact with the Estonian national player and captain Ragnar Klavan standing there at the same time under contract. In the time he spent in the Netherlands, he played 16 games during a loan to Telstar in the Eerste Divisie. He made his debut there against Helmond Sport. In 2011 Kaljumäe returned after the end of the contract back to Estonia and signed for FC Levadia Tallinn. He made his debut for Levadia in the Meistriliiga in the league match against FC Kuressaare after he came off the bench for the Lithuanians Povilas Sarunas. With Levadia he won as a result each one of the two cup competitions in Estonia, the Cup in 2012 and the Super Cup in 2013.

National

Marek Kaljumäe came to his first international match for Estonia in the U -18, in April 2008 against Latvia. By year's end, he came on three more missions where he could score a goal against Finland. As of 2009, followed by games in the higher U-19 age group including many in an international game round. In 2010 Kaljumäe debuted under the German coach Frank Bernhardt in the Estonian U -21 at the Baltic Cup against Latvia. In his fourth game, he could mark the first goal for the youth selection of Estonians against Azerbaijan. Since 2010 he has been an integral part of the U -21 which previously was true in the U -19.
