Maria Bard

Maria ( Louise ) Bard ( * July 7, 1900 in Schwerin, † April 8, 1944 in Berlin) was a German actress.

Life

She was until 1917 an education at the Academy of Music in Berlin and gave piano lessons from 1918, which she financed her training as an actress. Her first husband was William Graaff, the marriage took place on 10 April 1920. Graaff founded in 1923, the film company Rimax who also produced movies with Maria Bard except commercials.

In 1924, she was named " Migo Bard " her film debut, and the same year she received at Otto Falkenberg an engagement at the Munich Chamber games. In 1926 she moved to the German Theatre in Berlin and also appeared in Vienna at the Theater in der Josefstadt on. They celebrated a major success in October 1928 in the XYZ piece of the German writer Klabund.

After Max Reinhardt's dismissal in 1933, she went from the Deutsches Theater for the Prussian State Theatre under the direction of Gustaf. Bard was appointed State Actress. The film adaptation of Döblin 's novel Berlin Alexanderplatz in 1931, became her best-known film. She was the first Cecily in the film, Franz Biberkopfs girlfriend. In the role of Franz Biber head Heinrich George excelled.

Maria Bard's marriage with Wilhelm Graaff was divorced around 1930. From 1931 to 1940 she was with the actor Werner Krauss and married since 1940 in his third marriage with the actor Hannes Stelzer. She committed suicide in 1944 and was buried in the forest cemetery of Caputh.
