Marid Mutalimov

Marid Kamiljewitsch Mutalimow ( Марид Камильевич Муталимов; born February 22, 1980 in Makhachkala, Dagestan ) is a Kazakh freestyle wrestler in the class up to 120 kg ( super heavyweight ).

Mutalimow first appeared at the 2003 Asian Games in New Delhi in international appearance when he won the bronze medal. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens he was defeated in the semifinals of the Iranian Alireza Rezaei and in the fight for the bronze medal the Turks Aydın Polatci. In 2005 and 2006 he was in each Asian champion, 2007 and 2008 each second.

In the Summer Olympics 2008, he reached the semifinals, where he lost to the later second-placed Russians Bachtijar Akhmedov. Mutalimow subsequently went against the Iranians Fardin Masoumi, the winner of the repechage, and won the bronze medal.

In Asian Games and World Championships Mutalimow did not come so far over a fifth square.
