Marie of Hesse-Kassel

Marie Sophie Friederike of Hesse- Kassel ( born October 28, 1767 in Hanau, † March 21, 1852 in Frederiksberg Palace, Copenhagen) was a German princess and by marriage Queen of Denmark.

Life

Marie was the daughter of Landgrave Charles of Hesse -Kassel and his wife Louise, a daughter of King Frederick V of Denmark.

Princess Marie married on July 31, 1790 her cousin Crown Prince Frederick of Denmark in 1808 and Queen of Denmark. Your health suffered under eight births, of which only two daughters survived to adulthood. While the participation of her husband at the Congress of Vienna it was 1814-1815 regent.
