Mario Cotelo

Mario Gutiérrez Cotelo ( born February 10, 1975 in Langreo ) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Getafe CF in the Spanish Primera División.

Playing career

The beginnings

A native of Asturias Mario Cotelo comes from the youth of Sporting Gijon. After three years in the B- team of Asturias he succeeded in 1996, the jump in the first team. In his first pro season he was on loan to the then second division side CD Badajoz, in which he could immediately earn a regular place. After his return to the now relegated and also playing in the Segunda División Sporting, he also played there often in the starting XI and came to 162 inserts.

In 2001 he got the opportunity to play for the first time in his career first class and it drew Mario Cotelo newly promoted FC Seville, where he was employed under coach Joaquín Caparrós only five league games.
