Marion Ashmore

Marion Roger Ashmore ( born July 9, 1899 in Illinois, USA, † February 26, 1948 in Aberdeen, Washington ) was a U.S. American football player. He played as an offensive tackle and defensive tackle in the National Football League ( NFL) with the Milwaukee Badgers, Duluth Eskimos and the Green Bay Packers.

Career

Marion Ashmore grew up in Aberdeen and studied from 1922 to 1924 at the Gonzaga University. In the " Gonzaga Bulldogs " he played in the 1922 and 1923 American Football. It was used both in the offense, as well as in the defense of his team. In 1923, he served as team captain of his college team. During his season at the Bulldogs he missed no single minutes.

In 1926, Ashmore joined the Milwaukee Badgers. A year later he moved to the trained by Ernie Nevers Duluth Eskimos. In 1928 he was hired by the Green Bay Packers, who were cared for by Curly Lambeau. The Packers were able to reinforce critical pre-season 1929. Top players such as Cal Hubbard, John McNally and Mike Michalske could be committed to the team. Ashmore won with his team the NFL championship this year. The Packers closed the season on unbeaten. After this round Ashmore ended his career.
