Marja van Bijsterveldt

Janneke Marlene ( Marja ) van Bijsterveldt - Vliegenthart (* June 27, 1961 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch politician of the Christian Democratisch Appèl (CDA ). From October 2010 to November 2012 she was Minister of Education, Culture and Science in the Cabinet Rutte I.

Life

From February 22 2007 to October 14, 2010, she was Secretary of State for Education, Culture and Science in the Cabinet Balkenende IV and from 17 June 2010 to 14 October 2010 is also a member of the Second Chamber of the States General. From 1990 to 1993 she was Deputy Mayor of Almere, 1994-2003 Mayor of Schipluiden, a former community since 2004 in the province of South Holland. Next it was from 2002 to 2007 chairman of the party of the CDA.
