Mark Birighitti

Mark Romano Birighitti (* April 17, 1991 in Perth ) is an Australian football player. The goalkeeper is in the service of A- League clubs Adelaide United since 2008.

Career

Birighitti played at the age of 15 years for the reserve team of Perth SC before he was accepted at the National Training Centre of the Football Association of Western Australia, 2007. After a stay at the Australian Institute of Sport, he signed for the 2008/ 09 season, a two-year contract with Adelaide United. As a goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic injured on 8 Round failed, Birighitti came in a 1-0 win over Brisbane Roar to his pro debut. After two more panels on the following match days, he was also on November 12th in final second leg of the AFC Champions League 2008 - at 0-2 against Gamba Osaka - in goal. An ankle injury he suffered at the FIFA Club World Cup 2008 during a training exercise, took care of the premature end of the season. In the 2009/10 season he remained behind Galekovic without obligation stake.
