Mark Leonard Bartchak

Mark Leonard Bartchak ( born January 1, 1955 in Cleveland) is Bishop of Altoona - Johnstown.

Life

Mark Leonard Bartchak received on 22 September 1980, the diaconate and the Coadjutor Bishop of Erie, Michael Joseph Murphy, consecrated him on 15 May 1981 for the priest.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 14 January 2011 as Bishop of Altoona - Johnstown. The archbishop of Philadelphia, Cardinal Justin Francis Rigali, donated to him on April 19th of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Joseph Victor Adamec, Bishop Emeritus of Altoona - Johnstown, and Donald Walter Trautman, Bishop of Erie. As a motto he chose Christ Our Hope of Glory.
