Mark Levin

Mark Reed Levin ( born September 21, 1957) is an American lawyer, author, radio host and conservative activist.

Levin worked in the administration of U.S. President Ronald Reagan, including as chief of staff for Attorney General Edwin Meese. For several years he takes as President of the Landmark Legal Foundation influence on various social issues such as the ongoing dispute about the health reforms that began under President Obama.

Levin wrote several non-fiction books, the bestsellers, and occurs as a political speaker and commentator in appearance. His talk radio show The Mark Levin Show is one of the most successful in the United States.

Life

Stature as one of three brothers in Erdenheim and Elkins Park (both places in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania). After the completion of school attendance of Cheltenham High School in 1975 ( where he had skipped the last class ) studied Levin at Temple University, where he made in 1977 as a member of Phi Beta Kappa with a BA magna cum laude. In the same year he served as an administrator in the Office of Education ( school board ) of Cheltenham Township ( also Montgomery County ). In 1980, he received his JD from the Law School of Temple University.

Subsequently, Levin worked for Texas Instruments in the short term until he came to the Reagan administration. There he worked as a consultant and administrator for several Cabinet members, as chief of staff for Attorney General Edwin Meese, and as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Elementary Education and Secondary Education Ministry of Education of the United States and as Deputy Solicitor at Ministry of Interior of the United States. Beginning in January 1998 Levin worked as a lawyer for Meese when he tried to prevent the publication of documents relating to the Iran- Contra affair.

Since the late 1990s, Levin President of the Landmark Legal Foundation ( LLF ), one in Leesburg (Virginia) is based 501 (c) 3 organization for which he worked in other functions before. The existing since 1976 and with an annual budget of approximately $ 1.6 million ( 2008) and a half-dozen employees (mainly lawyers ) operating organization uses conservative concerns in court, including the defense of the constitutionality of school vouchers and the persecution of the Environmental Protection Agency because of improper documentation, the teacher unions for abusing their tax-exempt membership dues for political purposes and by former U.S. President Bill Clinton for perjury in the Paula Jones case. In addition, it is engaged in activities such as the nomination of Rush Limbaugh took place in February 2007 for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Approx. Mid-2002 began Levin to host a broadcast from the transmitter WABC talk radio show. Mid-June 2003 he followed Michael Savage on its timeslot 19 to 21 clock. In early September 2003, it was postponed his mission to the transmission place 18-19 clock. In mid-May 2004, the program was then extended again in two hours. On 30 January 2006 ABC Radio Networks began nationwide syndication of Levin's show.

Meanwhile, The Mark Levin Show, with more than 8.5 million listeners a week (as of March 2012) to the most successful talk radio broadcasts in the United States. In this market segment, Levin shares the fourth place with Glenn Beck and Dave Ramsey, behind Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage. Levin commented in the broadcast news and political situation, takes calls from listeners counter and interviewed conservative politicians like Michele Bachmann, Rick Santorum, Jim DeMint or Sarah Palin, who announced in the broadcast to a candidate for nomination to the U.S. 2012 presidential election to renounce.

Levin writes as a contributing editor for the conservative magazine National Review. In addition, he also writes frequently for the newspaper The Washington Times and the journal Human Events, both also conservative periodicals. It shall also meet occasionally as a commentator on television (mostly Fox News Channel) and hold public speeches at political events, especially in the context of the Tea Party movement.

Levin lives with his wife Kendall, with whom he has two children, in Loudoun County, Virginia.
