Peter Mark Regan MBE ( born January 28, 1972 in Bristol) is a former English rugby union player. He played as a hooker for Bristol and was active for many years for the English national team.

Career

Regan began at the age of eight years at Keynsham RFC with the rugby and spent the remainder of his youth at St Brendan's Old Boys RFC and the club of his hometown. He went through all the youth national teams in the country and was used for the national team of England Lord against South Africa in November 1995 for the first time. In 1997 he was nominated for the British and Irish Lions and played in the final game of the winning series. In the same year he moved to Bath, where he remained for five years, and won, among others, the Heineken Cup.

In 2003, Regan was nominated for the England squad for the World Cup in 2003 and came to two inserts. Due to an injury he could not participate in the final, which brought the first world championship for England. At that time he was already playing for Leeds Tykes, with whom he in his last season there, won the Powergen Cup in 2005. He went back to Bristol and returned in 2007 after almost three seasons out back in the national team and again took part in a World Cup. This time he could take part in the finals of the tournament, which was, however, lost to South Africa. He then led the Barbarians to victory against the reigning world champion, although he had refused to participate in this game and his club announced a penalty. With the Six Nations 2008, he ran at the age of 36 years for the last time in England.

At the end of the 2008/ 09 Aviva Premiership he finished his club career. In his final season his home club was relegated in the National Division One. He will graduate in the near future at the British Association a coaching course.

Regan's nickname " Ronnie " refers to the former President of the United States Ronald Reagan. He is involved in the Wooden Spoon Society and the Bristol Children's Society, two charitable organizations that take care of the promotion of socially disadvantaged children and youth.
