Mark Strong

Mark Strong ( born August 30, 1963 in London, England as Marco Giuseppe Salussolia ) is a British actor.

Life

The British character actor Mark Strong was born under the name Marco Giuseppe Salussolia. His parents - his mother is from Austria, his father is Italian - decided to apply for a name change. They assumed that her son would have an easier time with a British -sounding names in London.

After finishing school to Strong, who is fluent in German, at a law school in Munich decided. But after a year, he broke off his studies and went back to London. There he studied Drama and English at Royal Holloway University.

After graduating, he attended the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. In addition to various roles in various stage productions, Mark Strong had at that time also his first television appearance in the British television series After Henry (1989). After and Prime Suspect (1993 ), he was seen the following years in various television series and films, including The Bill (1990 ), followed by Century his first role in a feature film. In 2007, he was then at the opposite Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert De Niro in Stardust in the role of Septimus front of the camera. In 2008, Strong was seen in Guy Ritchie's Rock N Rolla, the second collaboration with the director after Revolver. A third time he worked in 2009 with Ritchie at the Sherlock Holmes movie together, in which he portrayed Lord Blackwood.

Meanwhile, Mark Strong is one of the most prestigious theater and television actors in England. In 2003, he was for a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award for his supporting role in a stage production of Twelfth Night nominated. For the role of gay gangster in The Long Firm In 2005 he was awarded the Best Actor Award at the Broadcasting Press Guild Awards.

The German dubbing voices of Mark Strong include Erich Räuker (eg in Stardust ), Dennis Brandau ( in Flashbacks of a Fool ) and Tom Vogt ( inter alia, in Sherlock Holmes).
