Markus Rehm

Markus Rehm ( born August 22, 1988 in Göppingen ) is a German track and field athlete in disabled sports (class T / F 44). He specializes in the long jump and sprint distances.

Markus Rehm is an orthopedic technician master. The avid wakeboarder lost due to an accident as part of a wakeboard training his right leg below the knee. However, he quickly returned to the sport and in 2005 was vice - German Youth Champion 2005 in wakeboarding. Thereafter he devoted himself increasingly to the Athletics and launched first for the TG Reichenbach and R. In 2008 he moved to TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, where Steffi Nerius also since then is his trainer. In the IWAS Junior World Championships 2009 he won the gold medal in the long jump and was fifth in the 100 and sixth over 200 meters. A year later he repeated the title win in the long jump and won gold and silver over 200 over 100 meters.

Since 2009, Rehm takes for men. At the Paralympic World Cup, he finished second in the long jump at the IWAS World Championships in Bangalore, he won the European record length of 6.75 m title in the long jump, as well as with the 4 x 100 - meter relay. About 200 meters he missed in fourth place just another medal. 2011 defended Rehm in Christchurch his title at the IPC World Championships with a world record distance of 7.09 m. 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, won the title Rehm in the long jump at the German Championships.

According to Rehm's own words, his goal is, as before, to Oscar Pistorius compete in official competitions against " able-bodied " athletes.
