Markus Wittner

Markus Wittner ( born March 2, 1973 in Kufstein ) is a former Austrian freestyle skis. He was dedicated to the discipline of ski cross.

Biography

His debut in the Freestyle World Cup had Wittner on 30 November 2002. During the first ski cross World Cup race in history, he finished third behind Tomáš Kraus and Isidor Green. Another third place followed in January 2003 in Laax, so that he eventually finished third in the discipline standings. In 2004 and 2005 he scored several top 10 rankings, but each missed the podium. In winter 2005/ 06 Wittner was third twice in the World Cup.

After 2007 he had to pause because of a knee injury, Wittner returned in 2008 to the World Cup back. On 10 January 2009, he last managed a podium finish. 2010, Wittner could qualify for the Olympic Winter Games, the Olympic race at Cypress Mountain in 15th place he went on March 28 was completed in 2010 Wittner in Kreischberg his career by winning the Austrian Championship.

Wittner operates a fitness and massage studio in his home in Söll. In addition, he has served as coach of the Austrian national ski cross.
