Martina Müller ( born April 18, 1980 in Kassel, Germany ) is a German football player. The striker plays in the Bundesliga for VfL Wolfsburg and the German national team. 2013 she won the triple with VfL Wolfsburg.
Career
Martina Müller played in various northern Hesse clubs before moving to the then reigning champions FSV Frankfurt 1998. Since the FSV that summer lost almost all of its stars like Birgit Prinz and Sandra Smisek, Müller was the same master player and provided with its gates for the league. After two years in Frankfurt, she moved to SC 07 Bad Neuenahr. On July 22, 2000, she made her debut in the match against the USA in the German national team. A year later, she was with the national team European champion. 2003 Müller became world champion, a year later, she won the bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Athens. In the summer of 2005, she joined surprising to VfL Wolfsburg, who had just been relegated from the Bundesliga. With 36 goals Müller was top scorer of the 2nd Bundesliga Nord in the following season and was thus Guarantor for direct re-emergence.
At Euro 2009, they came to two stakes, with her in the match against Iceland, the goal was scored in a 1-0 victory and was named " Player of the Match ". For the 2011 World Cup she was also nominated, but came to no use.
Of the currently active internationals it is the field player with most international matches and international goals. But she came mainly as a "wild card " for use (75 substitutions, 25 goals ) and played only 11 games over the full distance in which eight goals get her. On September 19, 2012, she arrived at 10:0 against Turkey for her 100th international cap and scored for the second time in an international match three goals. On November 20, 2012, she announced her retirement from international football. Nine days later, she played her last international match. Overall, they scored 37 goals in 101 games from which they came off the bench in 75 games.
In 2013, she won for the first time in her career triple from German Cup, German Cup win and Champions League with VfL Wolfsburg. This was also their first club title. In last season's game, the final of the Champions League against Olympique Lyon, she scored the decisive goal from the penalty spot in a 1-0 draw.
