Martna Parish

Martna ( German: Sankt Martens ) is a rural municipality in the Estonian Lääne with an area of 269 km ². It has 996 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2006).

Villages

Martna is 25 km from Haapsalu. In addition to the main town Martna for rural community includes the villages Allikotsa, Ehmja, Enivere, Jösse, Kaare, Kaasiku, Kabeli, Kasari, Keravere, Keskküla, Keskvere, Kesu, Kirna, Kokre, Kuluse, Kurevere, Laiküla, Liivaküla, Männiku, Niinja, Nõmme, Ohtla, Oonga, Putkaste, Rannajõe, Roude, Soo- otsa, Suure- Lähtru, Tammiku, Tuka, Uusküla, Vanaküla and Väike Lähtru.

Attractions

A part of the municipal district is Matsalu National Park ( 5100 ha ), which was set up in 1957. He is well known for its birdlife of 175 native species and its coastal landscape with rare animals and plants. In addition, the nature reserve, created in 1997 by Marimetsa with its moors exist.
