Marvin Martin ( born January 10, 1988 in Paris ) is a French footballer who is since 2012 in Lille under contract.

Career

Association

Martin was born in Paris and began his career at age six at the venerable club CA Paris. After two years he moved to Montrouge CF, a club in the southern suburbs of Paris. With the U-13 team, he won the 1997 the Coupe de Paris. After strong performances in the various junior teams signed him in 2002 FC Sochaux for its youth department. There he won in 2007 with the U-19 selection, the Coupe Gambardella, the French Club Cup for youth teams. In the 2007 /08 season he came in 32 games for the amateur team of Sochaux in Championnat de France amateur for use, in which he was able to achieve three goals. After the season, he signed his first professional contract, the initially involved a period of three years.

On August 30, 2008 ( 4th Round ) debuted Martin 's 4-1 victory against Olympique Marseille in Ligue 1 He came in the aftermath to regular missions and shot on 13 May 2009 (35th Round ) 3-0 win over AS Monaco his first league goal. After 27 league inserts in his first season in 2008/ 09 and a further 36 in the 2009/10 season he was in the 2010/11 season after playmaker Stéphane Dalmat had left the club, finally a fixture in the team. This season, Martin was best assist provider of the league and was nominated for the UNFP Young Player of the Year Award.

For the 2012/13 season Martin moved for a transfer fee of around 10 million euros to league rivals Lille, where he signed a five -year contract. 2012/13 Martin came also to his first stakes in the UEFA Champions League. Besides the two playoff games against FC Copenhagen, he also came in five games in the group stage against Bayern Munich, BATE Borisov and FC Valencia used.

National

Martin was first used on 19 November 2008 in the game against Denmark in the French U-21 national team. Even in qualifying for the U-21 European Championship 2011, he came to some applications, however, the qualification for the finals was not successful.

On June 6, 2011 Martin debuted in the French national team. In the match against the Ukraine coach Laurent Blanc joined him at the game score at 1-1 in the 76th minute. Martin decided the game in the closing stages with two goals and an assist in just four minutes almost single-handedly led the French and even to a 4-1 success. Martin was in the squad for the 2012 European Championship, where he was employed in the two group matches against England and hosts Ukraine.
