2012–13 UEFA Champions League

The UEFA Champions League 2012/13 was the 21st season of the most important European competition for club teams in football under this name and the 58th overall. The competition took 76 clubs participate from 52 state associations. Only the Liechtenstein Football Association did not provide a representative.

The season began with the first leg of the first qualifying round on July 3, 2012, and ended with the final on 25 May 2013 for London's Wembley Stadium. With the decision to award the final to Wembley - two years after the final staging in this stadium - honored the 150th anniversary of the UEFA Football Association as the birth of modern football. In the final match of FC Bayern Munich defeated the league rivals Borussia Dortmund 2-1 and qualified for the UEFA Super Cup 2013 and the FIFA Club World Cup 2013.

Qualification

In the draws, the teams were (expressed as KK) according to their club coefficient based equally divided in set (stronger ) and unseeded (weaker ) teams drawn against each other.

First qualifying round

The draws for the first two qualifying rounds took place simultaneously on 25 June, 2012. The first legs took place on 10 July 2012 on July 3, 2012, the return games.

Second qualifying round

The first legs were held on 17 and 18 July 2012, the return matches were played on 24 and 25 July 2012.

Third qualifying round

Second round

The draw for the quarter-finals took place on March 15 in Nyon, Switzerland. The first legs took place on 2 and 3 April 2013. The second legs were played on April 9 and 10, 2013.

Semifinal

The draw for the semi-finals took place in Nyon, Switzerland on April 12. The first legs were held on 23 and 24 April, 2013, the return legs on 30 April and 1 May 2013.

The final of the UEFA Champions League 2012/13 was held at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday 25 May 2013. The match between Borussia Dortmund and FC Bayern was the first meeting of two German teams in a Champions League final and after the final of the UEFA Cup in 1980, the second European Cup final with exclusively German participation.
