Mary Elizabeth Ellis

Mary Elizabeth Ellis ( born May 11, 1979 in Laurel, Mississippi ) is an American actress. She is known primarily for her role in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Life and career

Mary Elizabeth Ellis was seen in 2008 in the independent film A Quiet Little Marriage. Since 2005 she is also seen in a recurring role as a waitress in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Between 2011 and 2012 she appeared in five episodes in the series New Girl. There she played the ex-girlfriend of Nick (Jake Johnson). Other guest roles they had in Reno 911, House MD, Without a Trace - disappeared without a trace, Cold Case - No victim is ever forgotten, Happy Endings and Up All Night. From 2010 on, she held the lead role of Amy in the NBC sitcom Perfect Couples. However, the production of the series was canceled after the first season.

Since March 4, 2006 Ellis is married to actor Charlie Day, which is one of the main characters in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. On December 15, 2011 their first child, a boy, was born.
