Masayoshi ÅŒhira

Ohira Masayoshi (Japanese大平 正芳; born March 12, 1910 in Wada (now Kan'onji ); † June 12, 1980 in Tokyo ) was a statesman and the 68th and 69th Prime Minister of Japan.

From 1962-1964 and 1972-1974 Ohira was Foreign Minister, 1974-1976 Minister of Finance as well as from 7 December 1978 until his death, the Prime Minister of his country.

In 1979, he was Chairman of the G7 summit in Tokyo, and was the host of the conference. He was a member of the Liberal Democratic Party ( LDP), of which he was elected in 1978 to his party chairman. His successor as Prime Minister Zenko Suzuki was; Predecessor was Takeo Fukuda.
