Massimiliano Allegri

Massimiliano Allegri ( born August 11, 1967 in Livorno ) is an Italian former football player and current coach.

Playing career

After Allegri spent the first time in his career in the lower leagues Italian, among others, at his hometown club Livorno, joined the Italians in 1991, Pescara Calcio. Under Giovanni Allegri galleon developed, recommended for the Serie A in 1992 and moved to Perugia Calcio finally. After some changes, including for SSC Napoli, Allegri ended his active career in 2003 at Aglianese Calcio without notable success.

Coaching career

The first station of Allegri as coach was in 2004 Aglianse Calcio. After one season there Allegri moved to Serie C2 club U.S. Grosseto, but with whom he was not as successful as with Aglianse. At the beginning of the season 2006/ 07 he was on leave and joined the coaching staff of his former mentor Giovanni galleon at Udinese Calcio. At the time of his move to Udine, however, Allegri was still employed at Grosseto, which is forbidden by the Italian rules. Then Allegri has been banned for three months by the Italian federation.

In August 2007 Allegri coach of Serie C1 club Sassuolo Calcio U.S. and in his first season was with his new employer, he managed the first promotion to Serie B club history.

In May 2008, he undertook the Serie A club Cagliari Calcio. After a start with five defeats in the first five games, the team still managed the turn and reached in December an average place in the table, the Allegri earned a contract extension by two years. The 2008/09 season ended the team finally with the ninth place in the table, which was a great success for the club because of its limited possibilities. Allegri was voted Italy's coach of the year in 2009 and 2010.

In May 2010, Cagliari, separated by Allegri. From July 2010, he coached the team of AC Milan, but the club had to leave in January 2014 after a defeat in Serie A against his former club and U.S. Sassuolo Calcio promoted again.
