Matea Ferk

Matea Ferk ( born June 8, 1987 in Rijeka) is a Croatian alpine skier. It starts mainly in the technical disciplines slalom and giant slalom, participated in two Olympic Winter Games and World Championships and ran from 2004 to 2010 - with a two-year break due to injury - in the World Cup.

Career

Matea Ferk drove her first FIS races in March 2003. Between 2004 and 2006 she participated in the Junior World Championships, with a fifth place in the slalom in 2006 was their best result. From November 2004 Ferk started in the World Cup. However, they failed to qualify in any of her until January 2010 more than 20 World Cup races for the second round of the 30 best, which is why she stayed in her career without World Cup points. Even in races in Nor- Am Cup, she participated several times and reached it twice a place among the fastest 15 In the European Cup however, they went only a single race.

Ferks career was interrupted at the beginning of the 2006/2007 season due to a bad fall in Nor -Am slalom in Winter Park for almost two years. Because of persistent pain in the injured knee, she had to again in July 2007 to undergo surgery. At the World Championships and Olympic Winter Games, where Ferk had participated since 2005, she came in seven starts only twice to the finish.
