Mathias Jack

Mathias Jack (* February 15, 1969 in Leipzig ) is a former German football player.

Career

The Leipzig-born Jack turned in his career as a traveling bird. After his youth stations locomotive and Chemie Leipzig he first played as Active for Chemistry (DDR- Liga), then for bismuth Aue, VfB Oldenburg ( in which he first professional experience gained in the 2nd Bundesliga), and then came to Rot-Weiss food, with whom he reached the 1994 DFB Cup final ( 1-3 against Werder Bremen). In summer 1995 he came to Bundesliga club VfL Bochum. Here was a crowd favorite because of his combative style of play. As a regular player he had share in the Bundesliga rise in 1996 and the fifth place in the first division in 1997. During the same year he participated in a highly doped offer of Fortuna Dusseldorf. He later regretted, however, not to be left at this time sporting more successful VfL Bochum.

1999 he moved to Scotland to Hibernian. Here he played at least four years and was with the club in the 2001 Cup final ( 0-3 against Celtic Glasgow ). After a stopover at the Scottish also Raith Rovers and a short stay in Iceland at Ungmennafélag Grindavíkur from Grindavík he went back to Germany to his hometown club FC Sachsen Leipzig in the league.

A year later convinced him a former Icelandic players in Edinburgh, again helping out at Ungmennafélag Grindavíkur. Together with his former teammate from Düsseldorf times, Robert Niestroj and Michael Zeyer, he played 2005/ 06 the Icelandic club.

2006 was then the former second division side SV Meppen (now Oberliga Nord), his next stop. 2008/ 09 he served as player-coach at the DJK Amisia Rheine.

In the summer of 2009 he gave up the football boots to the final nail and Scout was the Bundesliga Arminia Bielefeld. The contact was through Jack's friendship with coach Thomas Gerstner of Bielefeld seinerzeitigem, which dates back to the time shared as a player in Oldenburg.

In March 2009 he was sentenced to 6,000 euro fine because he besides unemployment benefits was also associated premiums from SV Meppen in his time at Meppen.
