Matt Bentley

Matthew Bentley ( born December 10, 1979 in Clinton, Iowa, USA, better known as Martyr, Matt Bentley and Michael Shane ) is a retired American professional wrestler and current musicians. He is a nephew of Shawn Michaels. Today, Bentley is the bassist for the band Lost in chaos.

Wrestling career

Beginnings (1999-2001)

Bentley came through his uncle Shawn Michaels into the wrestling business. He coached several years in the wrestling school and made his debut in a 1999 Indy promotion under the name Michael Shane as a follow up to Shawn Michaels. From October 2000 to January 13, 2001 Bentley was employed by Extreme Championship Wrestling. Still in 2001, he earned his first title, the TWA Television Championship, which he was able to maintain 48 days, until he lost it to The Tornado.

2001-2004

After the closure of ECW Bentley ( MECW ) was committed in Main Event Championship Wrestling and was at their unique ECW Reunionveranstaltung MECW Light Heavyweight Champion. He became a member of the Stables " Group " in 2002, which with Samoa Joe, CW Anderson and Steve Corino was founded in the selfsame year in the League Wrestling Ring of Honor. This remained stable but without great success.

2003 Bentley approached for Major League Wrestling and took on 26 July for this promotion in a tournament, which was held in Orlando ( Florida): He went there with CM Punk as a tag team against Norman Smiley and Raven. In 2004 he was for Total Nonstop Action Wrestling committed where a Bentley Stable with name " New Franchises " founded and next to him and Shane Douglas and Traci included. Name Change

In 2004, Bentley lost the name " Michael Shane " due to a name dispute to Mike Shane, who was employed in the competition league WWE. At first he called himself then Matt Bentley until he was given the name 2006 Maverick Matt.

2007 - today

Since 2007 he has held the Martyr gimmick. Short term he was active among others in Stable serotonin with Havok and Kaz leader Raven, which should be a new edition of Raven's Flock and build on past successes.
