Matthew H. Clark

Matthew Harvey Clark ( born July 15, 1937 in Waterford) is an American clergyman and Bishop Emeritus of Rochester.

Life

Matthew Harvey Clark received on 19 December 1962, the ordination to the priesthood for the Diocese of Albany.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 23 April 1979, the Bishop of Rochester. The pope personally gave him on 27 May of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy, secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, and Eduardo Martínez Somalo, Substitute of the Secretariat of State. The inauguration of the Diocese of Rochester was held on 26 June of the same year.

Pope Benedict XVI. adopted on September 21, 2012 to its age-related withdrawal.
