Matthias Fahrig

Matthias Fahrig (born 15 December 1985, Lutherstadt Wittenberg ) is a German gymnast.

Fahrig gymnastics since the age of eight. In 1993 he went to the sports school in Halle ( Saale). Among his biggest successes include 2nd place at the World Cup 2004 in Stuttgart, the 8th place with the team at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and the European title in the team all-around and on the ground at the European Championships in Birmingham in 2010.

After Fahrig on vault and bronze on floor behind Hambüchen won the silver medal at the European Championships in Milan in 2009, he secured in Birmingham in 2010 his first European title on the ground and second place on vault.

In July 2010, the World Gymnastics Federation ( FIG) named the double arabian piked with half screws after its inventor Fahrig. Fahrig the item was first presented at the Japan Cup in 2010.

Currently Fahrig is training for sports and fitness merchant.
