Matthias Zimmermann ( born June 16, 1992 in Pforzheim ) is a German football player.

Association

Carpenter first played for VfB Grötzingen before he moved at the age of ten years, in 2002 the youth of Karlsruher SC. There he went through all the youth teams until he signed his first professional contract at the Badeners 2009. Until the winter break 2009/10 Zimmermann came mainly in the second team of Karlsruher used; since his pro debut on December 6, 2009 at the second league game of the KSC against Rot Weiss Ahlen he was a regular player. On November 28 2010 Matthias Zimmermann scored his first Profitor in the game against Rot -Weiß Oberhausen.

For the 2011/12 season Zimmermann joined together with his teammate Lukas Rupp for Borussia Mönchengladbach. There he was on matchday 12 of the season in an away match against Hertha BSC his debut in the first Bundesliga when he came on in the 83rd minute for Patrick Herrmann.

Since he could not prevail in the first team, it was announced in December 2012 that he will be loaned from 1 January 2013 to the end of the 2012/13 season to the league rivals SpVgg Greuther Fürth. His league debut came on 19 January 2013 ( 18th Round ) in the 0-2 defeat in the away match against FC Bayern Munich; He scored his first Bundesliga goal on 11 May 2013 ( 33rd Round ) in the 1-2 defeat at home against SC Freiburg with the opening goal in the 3rd minute.

For the 2013/14 season Zimmermann moved on loan to second division side SV Sandhausen. At the same time extended Borussia Mönchengladbach its existing contract until 30 June 2015.

National

Zimmermann's international career began early in the U15 national team of the DFB. Since carpenter came in the next higher age classes of the junior national teams to use.
