Maurice Taylor (bishop)

Maurice Taylor ( born May 5, 1926 in Hamaltan, Scotland ) is a retired bishop of Galloway.

Life

Maurice Taylor received on 2 July 1950, and was ordained priest incardinated in the Clergy of the Diocese of Motherwell. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 4 April 1981 for the Bishop of Galloway.

The Archbishop of Saint Andrews and Edinburgh, Cardinal Joseph Gordon Gray, donated to him on 9 June of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Joseph Michael McGee, retired bishop of Galloway, and Francis Thomson, Bishop of Motherwell.

On 7 April 2004 John Paul II accepted his resignation due to age.
