Maurizio Lupi

Maurizio Lupi ( born October 3, 1959 in Milan ) is an Italian politician. Since 28 April 2013, is an Italian Infrastructure and Transport Minister.

Life

Lupi in 1984 from a study of politics and economics at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, and then became a journalist and member of the Catholic movement Communion and Liberation. From 1989 he was also with managerial experience in the management of the Milan trade fair organizers. In 1993 he moved as a member of Christian Democracy is a city council of Milan. From 1997 to 2001 he was Assistant Secretary of the Mayor Gabriele Albertini, responsible for Physical Planning and Construction. In the parliamentary elections in 2001, he stepped up to Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia party and won a parliamentary seat. In the House of Representatives, he took over the leadership of the Committee on the Environment, Regional Planning and Public Works. From 2006 to 2008 he was Vice- President of the House of Representatives.

In the fall of 2013 he opposed Berlusconi's request, the government Letta of no confidence. Lupi and other conservative politicians Catholic orientation banded together under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Angelino Alfano to the new center-right party Nuovo Centrodestra that supported the government Letta on.
