Max Rieger

Max Rieger (* July 10, 1946 in Mittenwald ) is a former German ski racer.

Biography

Rieger was 1969 German slalom champion and 1971 giant slalom and combined champion. At the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble 1968 he was Twentieth in slalom and at the Winter Games in 1972 in Sapporo sixth in the giant slalom.

His greatest successes were achieved by Max Rieger at the 1970 World Cup in Val Gardena (South Tyrol ), when he was fourth positions respectively in the giant slalom and in the combination. At the 1974 World Championships in St. Moritz, he finished eighth in the giant slalom.

In his special discipline, the giant slalom, Max Rieger won on March 2, 1973, the World Cup race in Mont Sainte -Anne ( Canada). The next German, the this was achieved was 2014 Felix Neureuther. The other two steps of the podium! Could climb Max Rieger once each.
