Maxim Kovtun

Maxim Kovtun Pavlovich (Russian Максим Павлович Ковтун, * June 18, 1995 in Yekaterinburg ) is a Russian figure skater who starts in a single run.

Kovtun began at the age of four years with the ice skating and took seven years to figure skating training. 2011 Nikolai Morozov was his coach. Kovtun's first international tournament in the seniors was the World Team Trophy in 2012, when he replaced the injured Sergei Voronov.

Prior to the 2012/13 season Kovtun joined Jelena Wodoresowa and Tatiana Tarasova. He won two Grand Prix competitions as well as the Grand Prix final of the juniors. At the Russian Championships, he finished fifth. Nevertheless, the Russian Federation him nominated for the European Championship. In his debut, he finished fifth in Zagreb. He achieved personal bests in all segments. Due to the good performance of the Russian Federation despatched him as the only individual runners to the World Cup. He finished this debut on the 17th Place.
