Mayte Martínez

Mayte Martínez ( María Teresa Martínez Jiménez, born May 17, 1976 in Valladolid ) is a former Spanish athlete.

Life

At the Olympic Games 2000 in Sydney and 2004 in Athens Mayte Martínez reached the semi-finals respectively in the 800 -meter run. At the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton (Seventh ) and in Helsinki in 2005 (Fifth ) they reached the final. In Munich in 2002 she became vice European champion in 1:58,86 minutes behind the Slovenian Jolanda Ceplak and before the Briton Kelly Holmes.

More Medals won the past fast Spaniard in the hall. In 2003, she won bronze at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, 2005, she was at the European Indoor Championships runner-up.

After she only became seventh at the European Championships in Gothenburg in 2006, it took place in 2007 to age sprinting power back.
