Maże

Maze ( German: Maaschen, 1938-1945 stitches ( East Prussia ) ) is a scoring for community Kalinowo village in the northeastern Mazury in Polish Warmia - Masuria, Elk County.

The village is located two kilometers northeast of the small town Kalinowo ( German calligrapher Owen ) on the road leading to the Milewo.

History

The place Maaschen was first mentioned as a Tangible 1494, as the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order Johann Depths of two families transferred by Magdeburg Law 15 hooves land for the settlement.

1656 Maaschen learned by the invasion of Poland Tatars allied with extensive destruction.

May 27, 1874 District Kalli Owen was formed in the wake of a Prussian government reform new, which included the communities of Old Czymochen, cod, Went, Iwaschken, Kalli Owen, Kokosken, Kowahlen, Maaschen, Marczynowen, Pientken and Trentowsken.

December 1915 Maaschen was connected with its own railway station on the Elk Kleinbahnen that ran between the county town of Elk and Thurowen (until 1997).

1933 were recorded in Maaschen 221 inhabitants.

Maaschen was renamed on June 3, 1938 in the wake of the massive Germanization of place names Masurian, Polish or Lithuanian origin by deleting a letter in stitches.

After the end of World War II in 1945 to the German Empire ( East Prussia ) belonging mesh fell to Poland. The resident population was German, if they had not fled, largely expelled after 1945 or expelled and replaced in addition to the traditional Masurian minority by new residents from other parts of Poland. The place mesh was renamed the Polish spelling of the historic city name in Maze.

From 1975 to 1998 belonged to the former Maze Suwałki Voivodeship, then came 1999 on the newly formed Warmia and Mazury.
