The McIvor Highway is a highway in the center of the Australian state of Victoria. It connects the Midland Highway in Bendigo with the Northern Highway in Heathcote.
Origin of the name
The McIvor Highway got its name after the name of Landesum Heathcote from the time of the gold rush.
Course
From the Midland Highway ( A300 ) in the Bendigo McIvor Highway branches off to the east. He crossed the Campaspe River at Axedale and turns to the southeast.
About Knowsley he leads by Heathcote, where he on the Northern Highway ( B75 ), the connection from Melbourne to Echuca, true.
Importance
Together with the Hume Freeway ( NM31 ) and the Northern Highway is the McIvor Highway, an alternative connection from Melbourne to Bendigo.
