Meander River (Tasmania)

BW

The Meander River is a river in the north of the Australian state of Tasmania. Until the founding of the city Westbury beginning of the 1820s it was called The Western River.

Geography

River

The river rises on the southern slopes of the Bastion Bluff, a mountain in the Great Western Tiers, about 18 km north- west of the Great Lake. From there, it flows first to the north- east to the settlement Meander at the foot of the mountain. There he spent his run north until he reached Deloraine. North of the city, he should go east and flows past the towns of Westbury and Carrick until after Hadspen, where it flows into the South Esk River just before it enters the Lake Trevallyn.
