Mehmet Akgün

Mehmet Akgun ( born August 6, 1986 in Bielefeld ) is a German -Turkish footballer who currently plays for Kayseri Erciyesspor.

Career

Association

The first club of the skilled striker, but which is very versatile, was SUK Bielefeld. Later he moved to the youth of Arminia Bielefeld. In July 2001 he left his native town, to join the youth team of Borussia Dortmund.

In the season 2004/ 05 Akgun was the first time to the senior squad. His league debut came on October 16, 2004 against VfB Stuttgart. On 25 September 2007, he was the second time used in the Bundesliga. He stood against Hamburger SV as a right-back in the starting lineup.

Mehmet Akgun changed on 30 January 2008 from Borussia Dortmund to the Dutch first division side Willem II Tilburg. The transfer fee amounted to 150,000 euros.

For the season 2010/11 he moved to the Turkish first division club Gençlerbirliği Ankara. Located at the start of the season he had to undergo two operations. Thus he could not play at the beginning of the season. Only at the end of the first round he could be used.
