Mekonnen Gebremedhin

Mekonnen Gebremedhin ( born October 11, 1988 in Addis Ababa ) is an Ethiopian middle distance runner who specializes in the 1500 meters distance.

In 2007 he reached at the World Championships in Osaka the semi-finals, and in 2008 he finished sixth at the World Indoor Championships in Valencia. At the World Championships in Berlin in 2009, he left in the flow.

In 2010 he was fourth at the World Indoor Championships in Doha, won the bronze medal at the African Championships in Nairobi and was second at the IAAF Continental Cup in Split. A seventh place finish at the 2011 World Championships in Daegu was followed by a bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships 2012 in Istanbul. At the Olympic Games in London, he was sixth.
