2010 African Championships in Athletics
The 17th European Athletics Championships Africa ( officially 17th CAA Safaricom African Senior Athletics Championships ) were held from July 28 to August 1, 2010 at the Nyayo National Stadium of Kenya's capital Nairobi instead.
In 44 contests, each 22 for both men and women, were more than 800 athletes from 46 countries to.
Initially, the Africa Championships, as decided at the CAA Conference in April 2007 in Dakar, Senegal, will be held from 28 April to 2 May 2010 at the Moi International Sports Centre. In September 2009, the Confédération Africaine d' Athlétisme decided to postpone the event, as the preparations for the Kenyan organizers were significantly behind schedule. Three months later, the Nyayo National Stadium was named as new competition battle site.
