Mercatone Uno
The team of the Italian consumer market chain Mercatone Uno and several co-sponsors was sponsored. It emerged from the Carrera Jeans team. Only in the years 1997 and 2002 the team only Mercatone Uno said. In his last year, it was downgraded to the status of UCI- GS-2.
Team managers were inter alia Luciano Pezzi (until 1998), Franco Cornacchia (1999), Manuela Ronchi and Roberta Gasperoni. Sports director were, inter alia, Giuseppe Martinelli, Alessandro Giannelli, Orlando Maini and Marino Amadori.
The greatest success of the team was the tour -double of Marco Pantani, who both Giro d'Italia and Tour de France won in 1998. In addition, Stefano Garzelli won the Giro and the Tour de Suisse
