Meseberg is a district of the town Osterburg ( Altmark) in the district of Stendal, in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography
Meseberg lies on the western edge of the Altmark Wipe, a table flat area between the rivers Elbe and piping. Through the municipal area the Cositte, a small tributary of the piping flows. The town is located north of Stendal and is about 5 km from the town Osterburg ( Altmark) away.

History
The place Meseberg appeared in 1344 for the first time in a document on the place name leads back to the dynasty of Meseberg.
1743 a serious fire occurred in the place that did not spare the Church. It was rebuilt in 1824 and received an organ.
Through a field amendment agreement, the municipal councils of the municipalities have Ballerstedt ( 24 November 2008 ), Düsedau ( on November 12, 2008 ), Erxleben ( 10 November 2008 ), Flessau ( 27 November 2008 ), Gladigau ( November 26, 2008), Mark King ( 25 November 2008 ), Krevese ( 12 November 2008 ), Meseberg ( 19 November 2008 ), Rossau ( 10 November 2008 ), Walsleben ( 10 November 2008 ) and the Hanseatic city Osterburg ( Altmark) decided ( on November 6, 2008 ) that their communities dissolved and a new unified community with the name Hanseatic town Osterburg (Altmark ) were combined. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 July 2009.
After implementation of the treaty amending the territory formerly independent municipality Meseberg Meseberg district of the new Hanseatic city was Osterburg ( Altmark). For the community, the village has flowed Constitution according to § § 86 et seq of the Municipal Code of Saxony -Anhalt was introduced and formed a Ortschaftsrat with four members including mayor.

Coat of arms
The coat of arms was approved on 4 March 2009 by the county.

For the 850 - year celebration in 2002, the former municipality Meseberg developed a coat of arms, which builds on that which Meseberg. This coat of arms, which remained unapproved, now runs an eponymous district of the united community in the district of Lower flange flange. The colors of the former municipality are - derived from the colors of the cleavage - in reverse order: Blue - Gold ( yellow).

Economy and infrastructure
In the typical Wischelandschaft agriculture is traditionally a strong presence, working in agricultural Meseberg two commercial farms and two commercial establishments.
A special feature is a growing salt dome, located between Meseberg and Kattwinkel.
The volunteer fire department Meseberg was founded on March 17, 1900. There is a fire department with basic amenities.
