Metropolitan Borough of Sefton

Sefton is a metropolitan borough in the metropolitan county of Merseyside in England. Administrative center is the city of Bootle. For Borough, which is named after the village of Sefton, also includes the villages of Ainsdale, Aintree, Birkdale, Crosby, Formby, Maghull and Southport. The area is adjacent to Liverpool and is characterized among other things by the port industry on the Mersey.

The reorganization of the limits and the capabilities of local authorities led in 1974 to form the Metropolitan Borough.
