Mexico women's national volleyball team

The Mexican national volleyball team of women is a selection of the best Mexican players who represents the Federación Mexicana de Voleibol in international tournaments and international matches.

History

World cup

The first participation in a World Volleyball Championship, the Mexicans occupied in 1970 ranked tenth. Four years later they achieved in their own country as tenth her ​​best World Cup result. The next two tournaments, they finished in the squares 15 and 13 when they were there again in 2002, it was enough only for 21th Place. Four years later, Mexico was last among 24 participants.

Olympic games

As host of the Mexicans experienced in 1968 their only Olympic tournament and were seventh.

NORCECA Championship

In the first NORCECA Championship Mexican women used their home advantage in 1969 and won the title against Cuba, which she successfully defended in Cuba two years later. As the championship returned to Mexico in 1973, the host was fourth. In the next four tournaments, the Mexicans occupied third place three times (1977 sixth). In 2001 there were still a fourth place and after failing to qualify for the tournament in 2003 it reached 2005 and 2007, only the seventh and sixth.
